Georgia Fields joins forces with art-pop melodist Phia for a Double Single Launch at The Gasometer Hotel (Melbourne) on Sunday 3 July, as part of the 2016 Leaps & Bounds Festival.
Fields is celebrating the release of ‘Open Orange’, the stunning second single from her highly anticipated forthcoming album Astral Debris. Produced by acclaimed electronic composer Tim Shiel (Faux Pas; Bertie Blackman; Gotye), the lush and layered track features Phia on guest vocals and her trademark African kalimba.
Phia is set to release the single 'Heartstrings' - a playful slice indie-pop goodness from her forthcoming LP 'The Ocean of Everything', mixed by Eli Crews (tUne-yArDs).
'Open Orange (feat. Phia)' was released to media earlier this week, and some glowing reviews have already come in. Faster Louder say, "Cocking an ear towards mainstream pop's glossy flexibility, this airy lullaby starts off fragile before getting flooded with texture... It happily evokes the scrumptious link between fruit and sex that rang out so loudly in Kate Bush's 'Eat the Music'."
US-based music blog The Autumn Roses chimed in, describing 'Open Orange' as "intelligent, seductive and touched delicately by a gracefully and vividly-blooming magic".
Pre-sale tickets for the upcoming Double Single Launch on Sunday 3rd July are available here. Presented by Leaps & Bounds Festival, the dynamic and collaborative show will see Fields and Phia share The Gasometer stage - each performing their own set, before joining together for an all-in finale set of duets, collaborations, and surprise special guests.
